DOWN SYNDROME AND AAC

People with Down syndrome are individuals who have some things in common. Just exactly what those "things" are remains the subject of investigation. Although physical and medical attributes are fairly well described, research is ongoing into cognitive, language, and other neurodevelopmental processes across the life span of individuals with Down syndrome. This issue considers the application of AAC techniques, symbols, aids and strategies with persons who have Down syndrome and also have difficulty communicating.
